I am sorry to hear about this problem and I hope and pray that the new homes being built by the same, large, Florida builders are Chinese Drywall free. How do you know that the government or state stepped in and destroyed or got rid of all the bad drywall? I am scared because I didn’t research builders and we bought a brand new home in Orlando. Do Subcontractors in Florida still sneak this awful product into homes to cut costs or get rid of it? I wish I never heard of Chinese drywall but you wonder when you smell strange, pungent, gases in places with little ventilation in your new home. I even read there are hybrid homes. Can’t subs who use dangerous, deadly, products be punished? Don’t builders have to keep records on the products and manufacturers that they used when they built your home and the subcontractors who installed it? I watch new homes going up daily and there seems to be little supervision and many, many, subs used. I think they should be inspected for bad drywall before the insulation is blown into the attics by the county building inspectors. This would eliminate the problem for 2010 on. Please advise me or comment. Thank you.
